We serve as a cultural hub for our entire city as we host hundreds of performances 和 exhibitions 和 thous和s of visitors each year. Both our anthropology museum 和 contemporary art gallery host special exhibits by local creators, 学生, 来自世界各地的教师和著名艺术家. We invite the community to join us in appreciating the work of these scholars 和 artists 和 in helping advance the conversation around the subjects that inspire them.
Our anthropology museum has featured exhibits such as "The He(ARTery) of Pregnancy 和 Baby Loss," a collection of work from the Scraps of the Heart project funded by 杜克大学的公益奖. Conceived by Professor Erin Willer from our Divisions of 艺术, 人文社会科学, the exhibit focused on the pain 和 subsequent healing process experienced by mothers who have lost young children.
We also hosted "The Chain of Perception in Black America,小罗尼·博伊金(Ronnie Boykin Junior)的展览, 一位来自芝加哥的艺术家. 生产, 由我们的人类学博物馆展出, took the form of a photo series illustrating the personal turmoil experienced by black Americans living with sustained prejudice in the national media.

The DU archives are home to a rare set of photographs by Edward Curtis, the 19th-century artist 和 ethnographer known as the “Shadow Catcher.” Native Americans gave him the moniker after he photographed them.

Students from Denver’s South High School received a rare opportunity when drummers from the Japanese group Kodo — in partnership with DU — performed 和 spent an hour teaching 学生 from the school’s drumline.
